Our Commitment to Accessibility

Asian Value Investor is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all of our users, and aim to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

We believe that financial education and investment research should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities or the technologies they use to access the web.

Conformance Status

Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We also aim to meet the accessibility expectations that apply to public accommodations under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Our target is conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the site. We scanned a sample of 28 pages with the axe-core automated checker on 5 October 2026. The home page, the Chinese home page, the news index and the privacy policy had no automated violations. Some archived research reports, which keep their original formatting, still have colour-contrast and link-styling issues that the same checker reports. Automated tools find only part of all accessibility problems, so we do not claim full conformance.

Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard using Tab, Enter, and Arrow keys. A "Skip to main content" link is provided for keyboard users.
  • Screen Reader Support: Proper semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and landmarks ensure compatibility with screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
  • Focus Indicators: Clear visual focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements to support keyboard navigation.
  • Text Alternatives: All images, icons, and non-text content include appropriate alternative text or are marked as decorative.
  • Responsive Design: Content is accessible and usable across different devices and screen sizes.
  • Reduced Motion: Animations respect user preferences for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion).
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Form Labels: All form inputs have associated labels and clear error messages.
  • Heading Structure: Proper heading hierarchy (h1-h6) enables easy navigation for assistive technology users.

  • Browser zoom testing up to 200%
  • Mobile device accessibility testing

Known Limitations

Archived research reports

Research reports first published by Icarus Asia are kept in their original layout. Some use text colours with low contrast and links that are distinguished only by colour. We are working through these and will fix them page by page.

Third-Party Content

Some third-party embedded content (such as social media widgets or external newsletter platforms) may not be fully accessible. We are actively working with these providers to improve accessibility or find alternative solutions.
